POST TREATMENT FOR LIPS

  • Your lips will be tender for the next few days. Immediately after the procedure, your lips will be swollen and discharge lymph fluid. Gently dab the excess lymph fluid with a paper towel so it does not form a crust on your lips. Use only cold water to cleanse your lips and then generously apply ointment given in your aftercare kit. Do not use your fingers to apply ointment, please use a Q-tip to reduce infection.

  • Apply ice packs to reduce swelling.

  • Keep your lips moisturized with the ointment given, but don't over do it! A light layer of ointment is just right!

  • DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area. This will result in pigment loss or cause scarring, Lips will be very dry and crusty for first few days.

  • Avoid citrus juices, greasy, salty, and spicy foods during the first few days. Cut food into smaller pieces and then insert. Rinse away food on your lips with cold water. Do not lick and bite your lips during the healing process. Use a straw when drinking any liquids.

  • Do not smoke when healing.

  • Be careful when brushing your teeth. Do not use any whitening toothpaste or whiten your teeth during the healing process..

  • No direct sun exposure until lips have healed. It can cause pigment to fade, burn lips, and cause hyperpigmentation.

  • No Retinols, AHA's, exfoliating treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, botox, and any other strong treatments for 6-8 weeks after your procedure.

  • When taking a shower, apply a generous amount of ointment on the lips to protect your lips.

  • No saunas, jacuzzis, steam rooms, jumping into the ocean, excessive sweating working out, or hot yoga for about 7-10 days or until your lips have healed and scabs have fallen off.

  • No make up on your lips until you are fully healed to prevent infection.

  • No kissing, rubbing, and friction on your lips until fully healed,

  • No lip filler for 6 weeks.

  • Apply sunscreen to keep them from fading prematurely.

  • Avoid laser treatments around the lips. They can turn them black in color. Always let your laser technician know you have permanent makeup on your lips beforehand to prevent a situation from occurring.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE

Heal time is about 5-10 days depending on the individual, but the color of the lips will blossom for several weeks. Touch up is needed 6-8 weeks from initial date unless you enjoy the color it blossoms to. Do not judge the outcome until at least 6 weeks from the procedure date.

  • Color will appear darker and bolder after the procedure like lipstick.

  • The color WILL fade/soften about 50%.

  • It is important to realize that you will need a color boost every 1-2 years to maintain its fresh natural appearance. Fading WILL happen after each procedure. We do not have control of your bodies healing process.

  • Lip blush can fade more quickly for those who are oil-prone, have an iron deficiency, and use a lot of exfoliating products. Active lifestyles, smoking, and sun exposure can also contribute to premature fading.
